The Committee meeting of chiefs of state and government have elaborated a draft timetable for the establishment of the Government of the African Union (AU), last Thursday the 23rd of May, in Ngurdoto, Tanzania. At the meeting, Presidents Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania, Umaru Yar’Adua of Nigeria, Thabo Mbeki of South Africa and Yoweri Museveni of Uganda took part in this meeting.
The African Union(AU) Commission has organized a regional forum on migration issues held at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa on Monday, the 12 of May that was funded by the EC as a part of EU-Africa dialogue.
On 13 and 14 May the EP ad-hoc delegation for relations with the Pan-African Parliament, led by Michael Gahler, has taken part in the 9th ordinary session of the PAP at the Gallagher Estate in Midrand, South Africa, and in particular in the debate on the implementation of the joint EU-Africa strategy. They will also talk about The Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) and their impact on integration in Africa. A report on this event will follow soon when its getting published.
African ministers of science and technology and the European Union have jump-started the EU-Africa strategic partnership on science and IT and agreed to coordinate ICT development plans in Africa.
